She sat at the table sipping her juice slowly letting the recent news sink into her. The Judgements were being hunted down. Being a Judgement herself, she knew what this meant. She was being hunted as well. Even though she wasn't a full time Judgement, she knew that eventually whoever it was that is killing them off will end up coming after her. She felt a tug at her pants and looked down to see Chaos, the dark/chaos dragon, Phyre, the fire dragon, and Aqua, the water dragon there at her feet. She smiled and picked them up into her arms.
"Aww, were you 3 worried about me? How sweet." She laughed as they nuzzled into her and rested. One on each shoulder and Chaos claiming the head, as usual. She let them stay like that until she heard a knock at the door. Then they scampered away to the other baby dragons as she got up. "Hello?" She pulled open the door and saw the person she LEAST wanted to see standing there. It was Jyhnnx, Ruen's former manager.
"Why hello there, Nephylys. I'd like to have a word with you about your son." He let himself in and took a seat on the couch. Neph sighed, rolling her eyes, and sat down next to him.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" She crossed her arms and glared at him. An intense feeling of hatred for him burned deep inside of her. She wanted to kick his ass right there and then.
"As you know... I've had to face the counsil on...charges... against Ruen..." he tilted his head lower so that he could see her over his glasses. "...however, as embarrasing as that was for me... I find that you will be needing this new information given to me by the cousil." He gave her a set of papers and she quickly skimmed through it. Her jaw dropped.
"They're doing nothing about it?!" She didn't understand it. This man has had her son raped by a whore and even raped him himself and he was walking away from it a free man, only haveing to pay a fine. She put the papers on the table. "That's not right! It can't be-"
"Well it is." He interupted her. She went silent. "And, as you can see on those papers, I am still his manager. I thought you should know that we'll be headed off to continue his tour soon." He grinned at her with a face that said "I win". She glared at him. "You're a beautiful woman, you should smile instead of looking so angry. It suits you better." He gave her a wink. This made her grow even more angry. "Now, now, what's with that face?" He leaned in closer to her, "I said smile. Not frown". She refused to smile even more now. She didn't know if it was because of the bad news or because of the fact that he was asking her to smile that she wouldn't smile but she just wouldn't. He frowned at her. "Come on now... let me see a smile..." He placed his hands on her thighs and leaned over her as she sat on the couch. He brought his face so close to her that she could see the fibers in his eyes. He leaned in to kiss her when a voice was heard across the room.
"AHEM!!!" Rus "coughed" from the doorway. He was extremely pissed off, his face red with anger.
"Ah, so you weren't home alone after all." He backed off of Nephand gathered his things. "I shall be on my way then. You just keep in mind what those papers said and everything should be alright. I'll send you a copy by tomorrow." He closed the door behind him.
Rus went over and held Neph close. He saw everything so there was no need for an explaination. "Don't worry. I'm sure everything will be alright". |
